White shirt crap. And they spout reasonableness.
OP subject; did you have any COs who did NOT have any hangups?
we had an elder that was hung up on mens haircuts he had a real thing about how short mens hair should be and even told one bro off for parting his hair down the middle.. even told one bro to shave off his sideburns.. a c.o who was paronoid about sound always telling the bro in charge off.. .
a d.o who orded the attendants to remove crying babys from assemblys on more than a few occations...hans hubler for those that know him..

i'm up against surgery for family again.
the nicest elder presently says he will (must) come to support the blood issue.
the decision was already discussed with the doctor by the family member.
My relative wants the congregation informed. They never visit or even call, but they are the sheep herders. Emphasis on herding.
i haven't posted on here for years.
i also don't frequent this forum like i used to.. i have posted my story before, like 8 years ago.
i have been a baptized witness for the last 30+ years, but have not attended meetings in the last 15 years.
15 years inactive, so not known as a member.

It is not up to me and I will not override the decision made by someone else anyway. Every time it feels more like a spy waiting to see what occurs than a shepherd. Personally I don't want to have to be polite and visit/ entertain others in these times either.

Leave it alone. Most of the time an inactive person is ignored because they are not spouting about being a witness.
meetings have always been bad.. if paul had to "command" people to not forsake the gatherings, the meetings must have been really bad.. considering that jesus said in matt 18:20 "for where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there i am in their midst.”".
and then in matt 11:28-30: "come to me, all you who are toiling and loaded down, and i will refresh you.
take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for i am mild-temperedi and lowly in heart, and you will find refreshment for yourselves.
Halls don't have windows so you can't fall out when you go to sleep
a few old timers on here often refer to the dumbing down of the jw organisation.
what examples can you think of from over the years?
(i ask as an interested outsider who was never in).
Fed-up
Don't insult 8 year olds
so, folks, 60 years ago, starting on september 1st, i believe, we, local witnesses in southern california, had the "privilege" of attending the "around the world assembly", at, of all places, the rose bowl, in pasadena.
(i think that it was an 8-day assembly) i was 9 years old then, almost ready to start 4th grade.
so, was anyone else, on this site, at that assembly?

The experiences of helping each other can be found every where decent humans congregate. If anything, witnesses are more selfish than the norm. " best conventuon ever": I got to cut branches and help set up a tent. No memories of "light" but that experience sticks with us.
The indifference shows. No announcement about it, no wonderment among the webelows. It will be th e same clowns plus the new additions
so my mother passed on 20 aug 23 from the big c. i was there when she went.
that was indeed very traumatic.
i won't go to describe it.. dad went 17 years ago so there's just me now.
Condolences
Thanks for ideas when I have to deal with this.
